It’s been a little insane around here for the past month…more insane than the usual insanity.  But don’t worry, we’re still having the time of our lives.

In addition to brewing beer, we’re continuing to work on the various construction needs of the tap room at the BARn–walls are almost complete, cherry hardwood floor is soon to begin to go down.  I know, I need to blog about it.  It’s not easy to blog when you’re the one running the chop saw, though!

Here’s the most important thing to pass along to you–EVENTS!  Dates, hours, times, events!  If you follow Piney River Brewing on Facebook, you will have already noticed that we’ve added some events to our Facebook page, and honestly, that’s probably the best and fastest way to check out happenings at Piney River Brewing.  If you haven’t already “liked” the brewery Facebook page, just go there and do it now:  Piney River Facebook Page

First, we have added “Baseball at the Brewery” on Friday nights through baseball season.  From 6 to 9 p.m. (or until the game ends), we’ll have the brewery open.  You’re welcome to bring dinner and friends.  We’ll provide the pints.

Except for a couple of upcoming Saturdays in May, we have changed our open hours to 2 to 7 p.m.  With the longer days, we’ve found that a lot of people enjoy coming out to the BARn after they have done their yard work for the weekend or after they have finished their river float or hike.  Hopefully soon we’ll have that deck done to enjoy those summer days with a craft beer in hand.

This coming Saturday we are planning to stay open late for some live music with Keith Allen and friends, so if you enjoy acoustic tunes sung in an old barn, join us about 6 p.m.

A few additional dates of note are “Sip ‘n Savor” in St. James on Saturday, May 5th.  TCMH EMS Chili Cook Off Team’s fundraiser for Hospice of Care on Saturday, May 12th (we’ll donate a portion of all pint sales, and they will serve up brats to go with those pints).

And there will be more to come about this–American Craft Beer Week is May 14th through 20th.  We are partnering with Jim and Angel Alessi at The Open Range Steakhouse in Willow Springs to kick off the first ever Piney River Brewing event for American Craft Beer Week in South Central Missouri.  Go ahead, call your friends and mark out a couple of hours that Monday evening, and plan to join us for a craft beer filled fun time!
